DIY Father’s Day Gift for Your Superhero
By Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day!
It may seem like a good superhero is hard to come by these days. For Father’s Day this year show appreciation for your real-life hero by gathering his favorite treats and put together a box of supplies from your own newly-created Super Hero Supply Company. Don’t worry, we’ve made it easy for you. Below are all the labels you need to put together a great care package. You just need to print, grab some glue and scissors and you’re set. The bonus is that this is a great project for kids to help out.
Supplies
* Wooden Photo Box (found at a craft store)
* Various Glassine and Cellophane Bags (found at a craft store)
* Your Super Heroes Favorite Treats -the labels (provided below) are pretty generic so you can rotate in his preferred flavor.
* Downloadable PDFs (provided below)
* Either Adhesive Paper OR Glue (we like Elmer’s Repositionable Mounting Spray)
Step 1. Buy Dad’s favorite foods. We used Gourmet Rootbeer, Jerky, a King-Sized candy bar, and various munchies that we transferred to baggies.
Step 2. Using our Downloadable Templates (#1 and #2), print the labels onto adhesive label paper or print it out on regular paper and use Elmer’s Spray Mount.

Step 3. Cut out the label shapes.
Step 4. Transfer the treats to the Cellophane and Glassine bags. Adhere labels to each item.
Step 5. Tuck them all in the wood box, put on the address label and surprise dad on Father’s Day morning so he can have the energy to fight tantrums and continue saving the world one meltdown at a time.

As a dad, let me say that this is perfect. Humorous and yummy go together GREAT. I might just have to “accidentally” leave this one up on my wifes computer. Thanks!!
This is so cute! Great idea! And now I have something to give my husband for Father’s Day! Thanks!
This is bar far the BEST Fathers Day idea I’ve ever seen! I LOVE IT, and I’m sure my husband will too!! I can’t wait to make this!!!!!
Totally brilliant
This is just too cute! Definitely making this one!
Superheroes are a big deal in our family….I made this today for an early Father’s Day gift for my son to give my husband (his stepdad). My husband LOVED IT – and loved how custom it was with all his favorite treats!
Oooh that’s a great idea!
This is too cool! I would love to make this for my Dad and give it to him, but unfortunately he passed away a while back. Still very cool, and thanks for sharing this fantastic idea! Love it!
what an awesome idea. I might have to share this on my food blog, I think foodies would love this.
LOVE it… it’s a DIY that doesn’t look “cheap” or appear to be an afterthought. Thanks for the great idea, and the templates!
My husband is a firefighter and, as such, he really is our real life hero. I hadn’t come up with any great Father’s Day gift ideas just yet and, well, I’m done looking. I’ll be taking the boys shopping on one of his shift days next week and we’ll put it together on another of his shift days.
I’ll be sure to post pictures and link on Father’s Day!
Cutest Father’s Day gift ever! My husband’s birthday is Friday – I think I could even pull this together by then thanks to your cute printables.
Thanks!
I’m going to make this. It is perfect for him! Thank you!
I love this Fathers Day gift! Now if only I could figure out how to get my printer working again…
Thank you! That is such a cute idea. Is it ok if I make some other themed ones too?

thanks for sucha cute, easy idea. I made him a little fotobook (Fotobook – on Facebook) – but not sure it will get here in time, plus it’s little
– this will round it out nicely
It’s perfect. A homemade gift that’s not to cutesy/crafty. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
What a brilliant idea! I’ve been so busy working on getting other people’s father’s day gifts shipped that I haven’t even thought about my own (shame I know). We just printed out the labels and my 5 & 7 year old are so excited to pick out some of dad’s favorite snack foods. Thanks so much for the freebie!
Love it! Thank you for sharing- We’re sending this to our heroes overseas playing in the sandbox.
This is adorable. I’m planning to share this on my blog Friday, June 18! Thanks for a great idea!
This is so awesome. I am printing out and giving one to dad and both grandpa’s!
Ok, who is brilliant? YOU are! This is fantastic, Thank You for sharing!
This is just the greatest idea – it works for any dad and all dads are heroes!
Awesome. Thank you for sharing.
This is SO Super awesome! Thanks for providing the templates as well..I’ve got a couple of super heros to do this for!
Thank you so much for the downloads! I am thinking this might be a great work gift for people who go above and beyond, as well!
Thank you so much!
What a brilliant idea!
My husband IS a super hero so this is perfect!
LOVE IT!! Something cute, cheap, and creative – all rolled into one. Why is it so hard to find such for guys these days?? My guy is a super hero fanatic – loves all things Batman, Superman, Marvel Comics, etc. I am so excited to do this for him with my little girl (she’s only 1 but what the heck).
GREAT idea! I will be out of twon for Father’s Day so my son is making one of these for his dad and grandpa!
Where is the PDF for the printables??!!! I can’t seem to find it!
I’m definitely doing this for my hubby & my dad in addition to my traditional gift from our son.
I send Coolties and other goodies to troops overseas — and this will make the perfect label! Good any time of year, too.
LOL! That’s perfect! I’m using this idea!
Awesome project. My daughter and I just finished ours last night. It was perfect. Thanks!
This is a really great idea. My husband and I recently miscarried and have no other children. I was thinking of something thoughtful to do for him on Father’s day without calling so much attention to the “father” part.
Thank you SO much for the idea and printables. I have posted my “Care Package” on my website. Of course, I gave all the credit to you for the hard work. Thanks again, Tracy!

Too cute! I think they should make ones for mom’s too!? Does that exist? Next mother’s day!
This was so cool and easy! I just put this together- used a paper gift bag instead of a box, but the labels look cuye on it as well. Thanks for a great idea!
Way cool! Super easy to put together too. The spray mount hint for attaching labels- genius! Thanks…
Love it! I used for Father’s Day and it was a smash hit.
These are so cute and funny!
Just wanted to tell you my husband love his gift. I will be visiting this site more often. Thanks
We’ll be making this for dad’s birthday June 25th!
Thanks for sharing. I’ve linked it to my blog:
