Sail Into Summer With Ice Cube Boats
These ice cube sail boats make a fun activity with very little mess, and you can use the leftover supplies from your latest summer picnic.
You need: a plastic cup, bendable straw, tape, paper, scissors, hole punch
First bend your straw and tape the short end to the bottom of your cup. (You might need to trim the straw to make it fit properly.)
Fill the cup with water and let it freeze for a few hours.
After it has frozen, run water on the outside of the cup to loosen the ice.
Cut a sail from construction paper and use a hole punch to make two holes for the straw.
Ahoy matey!

clever! and great photography too!
Just adorable – I’ll be trying this for sure.
These are very cute and fun to make. Thank you for posting! Yours turned out better than ours, though. The sails tipped really easily. How many inches up did you fill the water? Maybe we did them too shallow, now that I think about it.
Perfect for YMCA Indian Guides with the younger kids. Need those easy to do crafts.
tee hee! I love this! Such a cute idea and it melts away! Thanks
