Start a Family Game Night

Bossy (an Alpha Mom columnist!) tells us how she spends time researching board games for the whole family to enjoy; she has a tween girl and college boy. Their favorite is Blokus.
The cold winter season is the perfect time to start a simple tradition of family game night. Be it good ol’ board games or family-oriented games on your video gaming console.
Here are some of Alpha Mom’s and our community’s favorite board games:
* Hullabaloo
* Zingo
* Apples to Apples Kids
* What’s in Ned’s Head?
* Set (I will continue to play this game when I’m in a nursing home to keep my brain sharp)
* Mille Bornes
* Sequence

    Trouble, Sorry, Clue Jr. and Monopoly Jr. (that way it doesn’t take 47 hours to complete a game!)

    the current favourite in my circle of gamers is the dice game Perudo. Takes a few rounds to get the hang of it, but then it’s fairly straightforward… and addicting… and intense…
    (a version of Perudo is played in the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean movie)
    it’s awesome!

    I love the idea of a family game night. I am a speech language pathologist and review great games on my site, http://www.playonwords.com, for their educational value. They are really fun too!
