Easy Father’s Day Photo and Memories Card

By Brenda Ponnay

Father’s Day is just around the corner and you and the kids might find yourselves scrambling to find just the right gift to let dad know how special he really is. Does he need more socks? Are we tired of making tie jokes?

How about a simple photo card with a few handwritten memories straight from the mouths of babes? It’s a time-capsule gift from today that dads will treasure forever.overhead shot Father's Day printable and photo of three kids on self-healing mat

Supplies you will need to make a Father’s Day Photo and Memories Card

  • our printable (see below)
  • card stock
  • a 4×6 photo (or let your kids draw a self-portrait in the space instead)
  • an Exacto knife with a self-healing mat if you are opting for the photo version
  • willing kids to share some memories (yes, we know this is the hardest part but so worth it!)

Now let’s get to printing! We’ve made you two versions for both horizontal and vertical photos and for Grandpa, too. Because Grandpas are fathers too!

How to make a Father’s Day Photo and Memories Card

Now here’s the fun part: place your printable on your self-healing mat and take your Exacto knife cut a small quarter circle on each corner where you see the tan sunburst shape. This is the slot that you will insert the corners of your photo. A frame in a printable!  Of course, you could take this a step further and cut out the frame and mount it onto a card and then cut out the second portion of the worksheet and put the words inside…or put it inside a real frame but you don’t have to. It’s ready to go! Well, except for the writing part.

Have fun and no matter what your kid(s) write we are sure Dad is going to love it. There is nothing more sentimental than little kid writing and memories! Capture them before they’re gone.
