Special Dinner for Dad on Father’s Day

Father’s Day is coming up and we have a fun dinner idea for dad where even the littlest kids can help… let’s cook him his favorite dinner (we chose grilled steak and a baked potato) with extra special veggies and festive details to make him feel special.

Those mad bento box skills don’t have to stay in the lunch box! Just see the pictures below.

Add sliced halved-olives (see picture above) to a loaded baked potato to mimic eyes on a face. Add some chives or dill to look like facial hair and a slice of red pepper to make a smile.

You can cut up carrots and cucumbers to look like nuts and bolts to add to a salad. (We used a metal straw to cut out the centers.) Let your imagination run wild.

To top things off we made a printable so you can add a Father’s Day message to the special meal.

You don’t need to spend a lot of money to let Dad know you appreciate him. It’s the little things!
