Heirloom Recipe Box by Rifle Paper Co.
Usually I link to online resources that help you simplify your life, but when it comes to recipes these hand-crafted heirloom boxes by artists Rifle Paper Co. are calling my name instead.
Truly, this is an item that is pure covet (at $120 per recipe card box), or if you’ve got the cash to spend you can make someone else very happy come the Holidays. I bring it to your attention now because only a limited number of these heirloom recipe card boxes are currently available for pre-order and another shipment isn’t expected until the Autumn and by then everyone may be hoarding them for gift-giving during the holidays (or maybe I’m just paranoid).
These recipe card boxes look truly special and like works of art. They are made by Florida craftsmen from locally salvaged hardwood, in other words trees that were destined for landfills. It’s a 3-month-long process to make these boxes (a month for the mill to source the salvaged wood, a month to build in the workman’s studio, and a month for the hand-rubbed finish to dry).
It seems like the adage you get what you pay for definitely applies here.
