Holiday Gift Ideas for 2010 (or any year, really!)
If you have been reading along with me all year, some of these gift items may not surprise you. These are items I would either buy myself or own already. Some were sent to me as press samples (which I note below) and others were bought with my own money. Hope you like these ideas and Happy Holidays!

1. Jonathan Adler Poodle Salt & Pepper Shakers: I often give Adler’s whimsical shakers as hostess gifts. I have a stash on hand in the “gift corner” of my closet.
2. The Hunger Games Trilogy: I adored reading this young adult fiction series. Perfect gift for mature tweens or your best friend.
3. Oblo Sphere Puzzle Game: I’ve had my eye on this challenging puzzle game for years, since it was in pre-production and cleaning up awards for its design.
4. Time for Dinner: love this down-to-earth cookbook which focuses on helping you get delicious and nutritious dinner on the table efficiently. I’m in the process of cooking my way through it right now. Perfect for your mama-BFF.
5. Wooden Fishing Play Set: fun, but also great for hand-eye coordination. Bonus, is that it’s stylish to boot.
6. The 5 Ingredient Fix Cookbook: based off the popular Food Network show, I love this book’s philosophy that it comes down to just a few key ingredients. One of my most favorite new recipes comes straight out of this book, for which I received a press review copy a few months ago. The recipes are sophisticated enough for grandma.
7. Pogo Stick: this summer my 7-year-old son spent lots of time bouncing around on this exact pogo stick. Dress in layers, put on some gloves, and a safety helmet (avoid any icy patches outside) and your child can generate enough warmth bouncing around in the cold weather too.
8. The Happiness Project: my favorite non-fiction read this year, I would recommend this book for, well, anyone!
9. Cray-pas: Crayon’s slicker (and prettier) cousin is too often forgotten. A small package makes for a great stocking stuffer and a larger one for a generous gift!
10. Lego White House: no gift guide of mine is complete without a Lego recommendation. This year, I’m sticking the White House (from Lego’s Architecture series) under the tree for my son. We tackled Fallingwater (also from the Architecture series) this summer and my Lego-loving son has been eyeing this one ever since.
11. Onion Goggles: last year while at a cooking class on a Kashi retreat, I was handed a pair of these and I was sold. These onion goggles are the real deal, preventing tears 100%. This is a perfect hostess gift or stocking stuffer. (I recommended this gift last year as well. THAT’s how much I love it!)
12. Kirby’s Epic Yarn video game: Nintendo sent me a review copy of this game for the Wii and my son was hooked (no pun intended). Instead of shooting lasers or guns, Kirby WHIPS YARN at his opponents! Huzzah.
