CheeseburgHer Party Time: Bag Hat Contest
It’s been a while since we’ve talked CheeseburgHer. Just to remind you folks, The CheeseburgHer Party is an event that I co-host each year at the BlogHer Conference. It started out as a small impromptu room party at BlogHer ’07, where a number of mom bloggers brought some McDonald’s cheeseburgers back to their hotel room. At some point one hostess put a paper bag on her head– and of course the cameras came out and the iconic photo of the original CheeseburgHer Party was snapped:
Bag hats have since become a CheeseburgHer Party staple. In fact, there now are hundreds of photos on the Internet of CheeseburgHer bag hat-wearing women. The Internet is awesome.
What really amazes us CheeseburgHer Gals, though, is the creativity our partygoers.
With little more than imagination and whatever they happened to have on hand, our fellow CheeseburgHers have turned out some fantastic bag hat creations. See for yourself.
This year we decided we’re going to reward the CheeseburgHers (and Hims) who create the most entertaining hats. Feel free to come to the party with a tricked out paper bag hat like Courtney did last year (see below), or just be inspired at the party and make sure you pose with lots of attitude for our roaming photographer. You’ll know if you’re in the running to win because we’ll ask you for your email address to contact you.

We’ll announce one (1) Grand Prize Winner and nine (9) Runners-Up on Thursday, August 12. If you’d like to be considered to win and you don’t think we snapped your picture at The CheeseburgHer Party, just send me a picture of you at the party wearing your hat. (It must be taken at the party site to be considered).
The Grand Prize Winner will win a $25 Arch Card to McDonald’s and a vintage McDonald’s T-shirt. The nine Runners-Up will each also get a vintage McDonald’s T-shirt and a $15 Arch Card, all funded by our party’s sponsor McDonald’s (thank you!). And trust me, these vintage shirts are cool- a few of us have them and wear them all the time! (Legal time: The approximate retail value of this prize is under $50 for each winner. McDonald’s is only responsible for the prizes and will not be involved in the contest judging.)
As judges (that’ll be me and my three CheeseburgHer co-hostesses), we’ll be looking for artistic hats, creative use of materials, originality and all around ATTITUDE.
Just think of it as a Project Runway-style challenge for bag hats!
