Favorite Women in History Coloring Sheet for International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is March 8th so we decided to have a little homeschool moment at our house. My girls love to color so I made them a coloring sheet that they could draw and color in their favorite woman in history.
I left it super open-ended. They could draw in their Grandma or mother (blush) or favorite teacher. But, right away, both girls hit the internet to do a little research. Maybe they liked that I was giving them an excuse to use the internet or maybe they really are inspired by these amazing women in history. I’m hoping for the latter. One daughter picked Rosa Parks the other Georgia O’Keefe. I was secretly thrilled as they threw themselves into the project.

I love how each girl added their own little twist to the assignment. Georgia O’Keefe with anime eyes, why not?!
Misspellings aside, I think they did a great job and they had fun doing it.
Whether you let your kids use the internet to do some Wikipedia searches or you visit your local library to check out a few biographies, this activity is sure to stick with them and use up some valuable daylight hours doing something meaningful. After all there are a lot of women in history and in our every day lives who deserve to be celebrated, don’t let this day pass without doing something special!
