Easiest April Fools’ Prank Ever: Frozen Cereal!

By Brenda Ponnay

Thank you to our sponsor, General Mills Big G Cereals

Everybody loves a good April Fools’ joke first thing in the morning. There’s nothing like pranking someone right when they are least expecting it.  Maybe you aren’t up for cutting out a bunch of printed fake cockroaches, making fake ice cubes or squeezing toothpaste on your toilet seat though. Those pranks can be a bit labor intensive. Have no fear, we’ve got the Easiest April Fools’ Prank for you and it’s perfect for playing on kids because it’s not mean or scary! It’s Frozen Cereal.

(We think this idea is best for kids starting at school-age; toddlers and preschoolers are too young to understand practical jokes. But ultimately use your best judgment, as you are the expert of your own child. With little ones, you may want to have them help you in planning and executing this good-natured prank on a parent or older sibling.)

The night before April Fools’ Day get ready for this hilarious prank. All you need is a bowl of Cheerios.

Add milk. Any kind will do. (Almond milk if you prefer.)

Add a spoon, like you normally do and then FREEZE OVERNIGHT!

Then the next day, instead of letting your kid pour themselves a bowl of cereal place the frozen bowl of Cheerios in front of them.

And wait for their reaction.

You might want to have a camera ready. It will be priceless.

Again, a special thank you to our sponsor, General Mills Big G Cereals. Whole Grain is the first ingredient in all General Mills Big G Cereals, that means Cheerios (and the other Big G Cereals) has more whole grain than any other ingredient.
