Make and Takes for Kids Craft Book
Long-time readers of our site will remember Marie LeBaron who we were so fortunate to have as a monthly kids crafts contributor for a couple of years. Marie has been very busy since then crafting daily for her own site Make and Takes as well as writing her first book, Make and Takes for Kids.
The crafts in the book are all original and new and organized around the calendar, especially holidays and seasonal projects. And, as has become Marie’s signature, they are simple, unintimidating with a focus on education. Now, when I write educational I don’t mean that your kids are going to roll their eyes at you. Instead each craft starts out by explaining very briefly the learning objective of the activity. That could be a focus on fine motor skills, or imagination, or hand-eye coordination.
See, Marie graduated with a degree in early childhood and elementary education and taught kindergarten for several years. As such she is thoughtful about the crafts she designed. You can rest assured that they are age-appropriate and not too daunting for the kids or the grown-up overseeing it all.
I know that Thanksgiving is not until next week, but if you’re putting together your holiday list already, this would make a great gift for a teacher or that crafty momma friend of yours.
You’ll be able to find the book at major retailers including Barnes and Noble, Walmart.com, Wiley.com and Amazon.com.
