Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party

I’m sure you’ve heard that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and they are all the rage this summer. My neighbor’s son has a birthday coming up so we decided to have an end of summer bash for him with a little back-to-school twist and of course everything had to be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The boys (and girl) geared up in their TMNT t-shirts and ninja masks for some sparring fun on our apartment complex’s green space. It was a really cool theme for us because several of the kids who attended are practicing Karate and Taekwondo. The older ones got to teach the younger ones some neat tricks as well as some lessons on safety and responsibility.
Then we came inside for a pizza party spread of course! Because everyone knows ninja turtles LOVE pizza!
I think ninjas love cake too so I made a special Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cake using a customized stencil I designed. I’ve saved the TMNT cake stencil here for you so you can make one too.
Just click, download and print the TMNT stencil out on cardstock. Adults, use an exacto knife to cut out the green areas but don’t throw out the mouth! You’ll need to place that piece back on to create a reverse shape of the famous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle snarl.
Then place the stencil over your iced cake (you can probably do a better job making your icing smoother than I did) and sprinkle green sugar sprinkles over the holes of the stencil. This will work best with light icing and dark sprinkles or even powdered sugar on chocolate cake.
I also made some cupcakes and added little Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cupcake toppers that I made by punching out ninja turtle circles out of some TMNT invitations that came with the party pack I bought at Target. Then we served green punch, veggies (of course) and pizza!
As a party favor we gave out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Play Packs (found in Target’s dollar section) with some pencils, crayons and a little pad of yellow paper. So whether our little ninja turtles are going back-to-school or just sparring in the yard, they are ready for anything! And of course we gave the birthday boy a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle backpack (not pictured here) because he’s going to need that.
Cowabunga, dude!
