Alpha moms and A-type ‘good girls’ leaving the Superwomen in the dust
By Mary Butler, Camera Staff Writer for the Daily Camera
Now there’s Alpha Mom TV.
The 5-week-old cable on-demand channel, offered through Comcast, says it’s where moms “seeking excellence” can “access targeted programming whenever their busy schedules permit.”
The channel is free to Comcast subscribers and allows users to select specific programs and watch them in their own time, with the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward. Some options include, “Maternal Fitness: Preparing for the Marathon of Labor,” “Preschooler Discipline: Making it a Positive Experience,” and “Alpha Mommy Moguls 2: The Community Builders.”
“We’re not preaching perfection,” says Isabel Kallman, 33, Alpha Mom TV co-founder and a former Wall Street executive, who is mother to 2-year-old Ryland. Alpha Mom TV, she says, “is a reflection of moms already out there. Alpha moms are already doing it all. We’re just providing tools to help them.”
