Thinking Of Boston

By Isabel Kallman

It greatly saddens me that it was just four months ago that I wrote Thinking of Newtown. Here we are again mourning as a nation. Thinking about how to explain and talk about this tragedy with our children.

I am so sorry, Boston. My heart goes out to all of those hurt and affected by this tragedy.

When watching the television news coverage yesterday, I broke down when the the Boston Police Commissioner asked his citizens to stay home as the crime was still a developing one. I was taken back to 9/11, getting to my uptown home from my downtown Manhattan office. Learning that our city (and country) was still under siege. It was terrifying.

As my friend Marinka asked after Newtown…

Where are all the resources to help parents cope with these tragedies?

Stay safe and strong, parents. Stay safe and strong, Boston. Much love to you all.
