Victoria Day Tea Party for Kids!

By Brenda Ponnay

We are not Canadian but it doesn’t take much to get us to celebrate a Queen’s birthday. After all isn’t every day a perfect day to celebrate like a queen? Most Canadians celebrate, Queen Victoria Day on the first Monday before May 25th with a picnic and the opening of their summer cottages but we thought it would be appropriate to throw a royal tea party.

It does help that my daughter and her friend both have Victoria as their middle name and they’ve considered themselves princesses since they were old enough to hold a tea cup. So I put together some tea, a few cucumber sandwiches, some tarts and a tiny birthday cake to celebrate this momentous occasion. To add to the festivities, I’ve made some fun Queen Victoria Printables!

If you would like to play along you can print out the toppers here. Just click, print, cut them out and attach to a toothpick with a bit of tape.

And here is a royal oval silhouette of Queen Victoria in a paper frame that you can hang on your wall to complete the effect.

I hope you enjoy your royal tea party!
